Petsfit Bird Carrier [Review]

Thanks for visiting my Petsfit Bird Carrier review. This review relates to a previous article about why and how to take your budgie outdoors [read it here].

If you are looking to buy (or thinking about buying) a bird travel backpack for your budgie, I hope you will find this review of the Petsfit Bird Carrier (and the company who makes them) useful.

Why Am I Reviewing The Petsfit Bird Carrier?

As a crazy budgie lady – and proud of it – I tend to think a lot about my bird! What yummy new foods to feed it, what new toys it might like, does he look sad, happy, grumpy? 😉

I’m sure you’re starting to sense how my long suffering husband feels about my bird obsession!

Several times a year my family goes on vacation to a beautiful spot near the beach and we take the budgie with us too! He likes the change of scenery and seems to have a good time, but sadly is confined to his cage for most of the time.

One day I was thinking of ways to include him in our beach walks and other activities and thought about how a small travel cage might be useful. A little Googling came up with all sorts of bird travel carriers options – some that I had no idea even existed!

Hello, bird backpacks!

I am really wanting to buy a bird backpack and so I have been busy researching the various backpack options and am posting my reviews here in order to help other crazy budgie lovers who might think as I do.

But here’s the thing – I don’t have an endless bucket of money – after all, the cost of new bird toys can quickly add up! I can’t afford to buy each of the backpacks I am researching (and the companies who sell them have yet to send me a freebie, *sniff, sniff*).

In order to provide an unbiased, yet thorough review, I have consulted the company website, online retailers, existing owners of the product and waded through customer reviews from people who have purchased it.

My Recommendation

I’m confident that the Petsfit Bird Carrier would be a great choice for anyone looking to purchase a well designed, mid price, bird-friendly backpack.

The carrier seems well constructed and designed and includes some useful features such as multiple wearing options, removable tray/grill and a small storage pouch. I do think it is lacking in customization options – no choice in colour, or perch size or perch placement options for height adjustments.

The price is appealing and there are very few negative customer reviews (mostly by owners of much larger birds who either didn’t fit or damaged some parts with their more powerful beaks). I have no doubt that this is a good quality product.

Would I buy the Petsfit Bird Carrier backpack?  Hmmm, it depends.  If price was the deciding factor and I only needed an occasional wear backpack for short trips – then yes, this backpack would do quite nicely.  If budgie was ready for some serious hiking fun, I would probably choose the more durable Celltei Pak-O-Bird.

If you’re still unconvinced whether a bird carrier backpack has a place in your crazy birdie home, I invite you to read my earlier post here.

Hope you enjoyed reading!
